Whoever turns up to look at your concrete is the same person who takes the dimensions, reads it for moisture, prices it and then comes back and lays it. If something is wrong afterwards, you already know who to call and they already know your floor.

Sarnia sits on the bed of a glacial lake. The soil is deep grey clay that holds water instead of draining it, and that single fact changes how a floor has to be specified here. An installer who works across half of southwestern Ontario is not thinking about that on the way in. We are.
We also know the housing stock. Polymer Corporation arrived in 1942 and the city filled in with subdivisions through the fifties and sixties, so a huge number of Sarnia garages are sitting on slabs that are sixty to eighty years old, poured without a vapour barrier and salted every winter since. Those floors need different preparation from a slab in a Rapids Parkway subdivision, and pricing them the same would be dishonest.
We measure the floor properly rather than working from a description.
We take a relative humidity reading inside the slab before we quote. On clay that number decides whether the floor is still attached in five years, and no amount of looking at the concrete will give it to you.
We diamond grind. We do not acid etch, ever, and it is the most common corner cut in this trade.
We write a specification: system, thickness, colour, preparation method, cure times and price. You get to see what you are buying.
We give you real cure times, including when you can walk on it and when you can park on it, and we do not shorten them to look fast.
We turn work down. If a slab will not hold a coating, we will tell you that rather than take the money and hope.

A flake system is a resin base with vinyl chip thrown into it wet, then locked under a clear polyaspartic wear layer. It is the system we install most often in Sarnia because the texture gives grip on a floor that spends half the year wet, and the chip pattern hides the dirt a garage actually collects.

Polyaspartic is a resin that keeps hardening in cold that shuts epoxy down, reaches service strength in hours rather than days, and holds its colour under ultraviolet light. It is our standard top coat in Sarnia, and on some floors we build the whole system from it, because a slab in an unheated garage here sits below epoxy's working range for half the year.

Concrete floor coating covers everything we install on a bare slab, whether it ends up as a flake floor, a solid colour or a plain sealed surface. The job is the same underneath: open the concrete, repair it, test it, and put a resin system on it that keeps water out. On Sarnia clay, keeping water out is the whole point.

Patio and outdoor concrete coating seals porches, walkways, pool surrounds and covered patios with a UV-stable polyaspartic and an anti-slip aggregate. Outdoor concrete in Sarnia takes the full freeze-thaw cycle with nothing above it to moderate the temperature, plus wind and driven rain off Lake Huron, so the specification is not the same as an indoor floor.
