Industrial and Warehouse Flooring

Industrial And Warehouse Flooring In Sarnia, Ontario

Industrial and warehouse flooring is specified around what actually happens on the floor: forklift traffic, dropped steel, solvent and chemical spills, hot work and regular wash-down. Sarnia has three refineries and more than thirty chemical plants, plus the fabricators, machine shops and contractors that serve them, and those floors need a different build from a garage.

A domestic system on an industrial floor is a false economy. It will look fine for a season and then wear through where the traffic runs.

We build thickness where it is needed, specify against the actual chemical exposure, and mark the floor out so it stays legible.

Industrial and Warehouse Flooring details

What Industrial Floors Have To Survive

Point loading from forklifts, pallet trucks and racking legs, which concentrates far more weight on far less area than a car ever does.

Impact from dropped tooling and stock.

Chemical attack. Solvents, acids, caustics, cutting fluids and hydraulic oil all behave differently on resin and the specification has to match what is actually on site.

Thermal shock from wash-down and steam cleaning, which can debond a system that was not chosen for it.

Abrasion, which is the quiet one. It does not fail dramatically, it just wears the floor thin at the traffic lanes until the concrete shows through.

Line Marking And Safety Zoning

Aisles, walkways and pedestrian crossings are laid into the floor rather than painted on top, so a forklift does not scrub them off within the year.

Hazard zones, exclusion areas around equipment and bay numbering are installed the same way.

Anti-slip aggregate is specified by area. Wash-down bays and ramps get a coarser grade than open floor.

We can match an existing site colour convention if you already have one.

Shutdowns, Turnarounds And Phasing

Most industrial floors here go in during a shutdown, a turnaround or a weekend, and that window does not move.

We plan the sequence backwards from your restart time, coat in bays so plant can keep running where possible, and give you a cure schedule you can hold us to.

If the window is genuinely too short for the specification, we will say so while you can still do something about it.

What We Install

The Rest Of What We Install

Houses, shops and plants right across the county, from Point Edward down the river to Courtright.

Garage Floor Coating

A garage floor coating shuts the concrete off from road salt, brine and meltwater. Letting those in is what finishes most garage floors in this city. The slab is opened up, made good, and given a chip system under a polyaspartic wear layer, built for concrete that gets driven on right through the winter.

Flake Epoxy Flooring

A flake system is a resin base with vinyl chip thrown into it wet, then locked under a clear polyaspartic wear layer. It is the system we install most often in Sarnia because the texture gives grip on a floor that spends half the year wet, and the chip pattern hides the dirt a garage actually collects.

Polyaspartic Floor Coating

Polyaspartic is a resin that keeps hardening in cold that shuts epoxy down, reaches service strength in hours rather than days, and holds its colour under ultraviolet light. It is our standard top coat in Sarnia, and on some floors we build the whole system from it, because a slab in an unheated garage here sits below epoxy's working range for half the year.

Concrete Floor Coating

Concrete floor coating covers everything we install on a bare slab, whether it ends up as a flake floor, a solid colour or a plain sealed surface. The job is the same underneath: open the concrete, repair it, test it, and put a resin system on it that keeps water out. On Sarnia clay, keeping water out is the whole point.

Basement Floor Coating

Basement floor coating takes a cold, dusty slab and leaves you with a sealed surface you can mop and a room that is noticeably brighter. In Sarnia it is also the job where preparation matters most, because the clay under this city holds water against your basement slab and drives it upward as vapour. We test every basement before we quote, and the reading decides what we can install.

Commercial Epoxy Flooring

Commercial epoxy flooring gives a shop, clinic, kitchen or showroom a seamless floor with no grout lines to hold dirt, no tiles to lift and nothing for a mop to catch on. We phase the work around your opening hours so you keep trading, and we give you a cure schedule you can put in a calendar rather than a vague promise.

Epoxy Floor Repair and Recoating

Epoxy floor repair and recoating is for floors that have started peeling, bubbling, chalking or lifting off in sheets. The failed build comes off, we work out what killed it, the concrete gets repaired, and the replacement is chosen to beat whatever that was. In Sarnia the cause is usually one of two things, and neither of them is the colour you chose.

Patio and Outdoor Concrete Coating

Patio and outdoor concrete coating seals porches, walkways, pool surrounds and covered patios with a UV-stable polyaspartic and an anti-slip aggregate. Outdoor concrete in Sarnia takes the full freeze-thaw cycle with nothing above it to moderate the temperature, plus wind and driven rain off Lake Huron, so the specification is not the same as an indoor floor.

Metallic Epoxy Flooring

Metallic floors are made by working reflective pigment through clear resin while it is still moving, so the result has depth and drift in it instead of one flat colour. No two are the same. It belongs indoors, in rooms that get looked at and spent time in, rather than in a garage that parks a salty vehicle every night.
